Television series following a group of young people volunteering abroad.

A series where eight young people 14-16 years old travel abroad to do volunteering work on projects that help local people and the environment. Following a very rigorous process, Lloyd Antrobus from Buckley, Mali Rees from Cardiff, Teleri Davies from Bala and Ioan Williams from the Vale of Glamorgan were chosen to be part of the NEWID BYD team that went to Malawi in Africa. They helped build a new secondary school for girls and also save wild animals at a wildlife centre in the Capital, Lilongwe. Danial Evans from Llangefni, Yali Banton-Heath from Corris, Aron Dafydd from Lampeter and Hannah Stevenson from Cardigan were the ones chosen to go to Cambodia in Asia. During their time, they helped at an Orphanage and with an eco-tourism project deep in the rainforest of the Cardamom Mountains. The series concentrates on their experiences and is full of adventure and varying emotions that could change the world for these young people.

In this lively observational series, we go behind the scenes of a flourishing Welsh family business.

At the family-run Cwmcerrig farm, shop and grill in Gorslas, it’s a non-stop endeavour to keep the business alive. In this lively observational series, we go behind the scenes of a flourishing Welsh family business (day and night), to show how blood, sweat, tears and plenty of laughter can keep jobs safe, a family and an entire community thriving even in the hardest times. It’s a unique set-up; an entrepreneurial Welsh family, mixing old ventures and new, and thriving in an under-privileged part of the country.

Of the 40 staff on site, around 18 are family members. The Watkins’ family has 13 brothers and sisters at its core – 4 of whom are the main business partners. Their children and various cousins are also involved and together they run the Cwmcerrig enterprise. Over the course of a year, we’ll follow some of the larger-than-life characters- and there are plenty of those!

The new series of Bro on S4C will meet different characters who live and work on the new Wales coastal trail.

To coincide with the opening of the new Wales Coast Path in May this year, the new series of Bro on S4C will follow this coastal trail. Talented athlete Lowri Morgan will be joining Shân Cothi and Iolo Williams to present Bro: Llwybr yr Arfordir when they discover more about the 870-mile footpath. In the first programme on Tuesday, 3 April, Lowri will try snowboarding with trainer Bedwyr ap Gwyn at the top of the Great Orme in Llandudno, which will be part of the world’s first national coastal path. “This is an ideal job for me; I love outdoor activities such as snowboarding and surfing, and of course I get the chance to meet people and hear their reasons for living on the coast,” says Lowri, who’s originally from the Gower, near Swansea but now lives in Cardiff.

“The opening of the Wales Coast Path will be a special and historic occasion. Every time I’ve been running abroad, whether in the Arctic or in the jungle, someone has commented how the coastline is like a playground for those who live there, because it offers so many activities. This is a great chance to put Wales on the map and to show what we have to offer.”
